Vice Adm. Raquel Bono, director of the Defense Health Agency, kicked off the Federal Health 2015 conference in San Antonio, Monday morningwith a presentation highlighting the contributions DHA has made since its establishment in 2013, and its future goals.

It's a problem that in one way isn't really there, but to those it hits, it's very real. Phantom limb pain is a condition that affects those with amputations. Military medical researchers are working to better understand the phenomenon, and they have found an effective treatment.

December 1st is World AIDS Day, an opportunity to raise awareness of one of the most devastating diseases of the modern era, as well as to shine a spotlight on work being done to fight its spread. The Military Health System is playing an important role in this fight overseas through the Department of Defense HIV/AIDS Prevention Program (DHAPP), as part of its overall strategy of global health engagement.
